Academic–Industry Exchange Day

On June 15, ICreativeHub led by Professor Hubiao Huang at Southeast University hosted an interdisciplinary academic and industry exchange, welcoming a delegation of distinguished scholars, industry representatives, and government officials to the university.
The delegation included Professor Zhifang Sun from Xiangtan University, Professor Kecheng Jie from Nanjing University, and Professor Qinghui Guo from Tsinghua University, together with representatives from leading semiconductor companies and officials from the National Development and Reform Commission.
This event provided a platform for cross-sector dialogue on frontier research, technological innovation, and industrial development in semiconductors and advanced materials. By bringing together perspectives from academia, industry, and government, the exchange sought to strengthen connections between fundamental research, emerging technological needs, and industrial applications. The program comprised two main sessions:
Academic Sharing and Industry-Academia Collaboration
During the academic session, Professor Huang, Professor Sun, Professor Jie, and Professor Guo presented recent research progress and technological developments from their respective groups. The presentations covered a range of topics in advanced materials and semiconductor-related research, providing a basis for further interdisciplinary discussion.
Following the presentations, the participants engaged in in-depth discussions with industry representatives on how fundamental scientific research can better address practical technological challenges and evolving industrial needs. The exchange highlighted opportunities to strengthen collaboration across academia and industry, facilitate the translation of research outcomes into practical technologies, and allow real-world engineering challenges to inspire new directions in fundamental research.
Facility Tour and Future Collaboration
The event concluded with a guided technical tour of Southeast University’s advanced micro- and nanofabrication platforms. During the visit, the delegation gained first-hand insight into the advanced experimental infrastructure, fabrication capabilities, and collaborative research environment. The visit provided participants with a deeper understanding of Southeast University’s capabilities in micro- and nanoscale research and technology development, while also creating opportunities for future collaboration in talent development, joint research and technology innovation, and the advancement of the regional semiconductor industry.
